Technically, it’s so easy to create a sales page. What is daunting is how to get your sales page  to convert leads into buyers. Some say it has something to do with the design, others content. Our answer is that your sales page needs to have both.

Here’s how to create the most compelling, converting sales page for your online business:

  1. Focus on the headline. The first thing people see in your page is the headline. It should be attention grabbing and mysterious enough to push them to read the entire sales letter. Second, it must stand out from the rest. You can do this by making its color and size different from all the other texts.
  1. Limit the use of lengthy paragraphs. Lengthy sales letters are boring, and people can get tired reading them. Instead, present your points in bullets or subheadings.
  1. Spend more time on the benefits than on the features. So you product looks good and is eco-friendly-that’s great. But how is that going to benefit your customers? People are generally misers. They love to scrimp as much as possible; that’s why they hunt for discounts. However, they are also willing to spend a fortune if they know that what you’re selling is very valuable. You shouldn’t ignore the features, but you need to look beyond them.
In fact, you have to create your USP. USP stands for unique selling proposition. It’s what makes your product—and business—different from all the others.
  2. Don’t forget the call to action button. How should you design your call to action button? Treat it like your heading. It should be easy to spot and totally different from the rest of the texts or even graphics on the page. If possible, insert them once in a while in the sales page so potential customers have the option to buy without reading the entire sales letter.
  3. Offer plenty of payment options. Yes, you can make a lot of money with info products such as e-books and e-courses. You can even sell them at thousands of dollars. But only a few would buy them if you don’t offer flexible payment options. The classic technique is to let them pay in instalments. You can also provide freebies with their corresponding values to make the product even more attractive. It’s also ideal if you let them pay in multiple ways: credit cards, debit cards, Paypal, and Moneybookers, to name a few.
